Do You Believe The Truth?

Grace and peace be unto you.

“The elder, To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 1-2).

The apostle John wrote a letter to Gaius and expressed well wishes in the salutation (3 John 1-2), mentioned above. Interestingly, many preachers and teachers of the gospel have interpreted the well wishes as God’s plan for all believers. Hence, they teach that Jesus wants us to prosper in health, finances, and relationships. An example is shown in this YouTube video, https://youtu.be/yu4mE5o_0fI.

Are these teachers deliberately misinterpreting the scripture? Are they aware that their interpretation is incorrect? Well, the Lord knows their intention. Let us pray that their eyes will be opened to the truth.

Heavenly Father, thank you that your Holy Spirit reveals the truth to us. Help us to seek your face and embrace your truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
