Be Patient; It Is Coming

Grace and peace be unto you.

The story is told that the Amalekites attacked the Israelites unprovoked during their exodus from Egypt. Many years later, God told Saul that he would punish the Amalekites for their evil action. Thus, he instructed him to attack the Amalekites and destroy everything that belonged to them (1 Samuel 15:1-3). God is offended when his children are attacked. Beyond the shadow of a doubt, he will brutally punish the attackers.

God sees everything we do and has an appointed time to respond. Sometimes he responds immediately, while other times his response is delayed. Even so, he rewards us according to what we have done (Psalm 62:12). Hence, he encourages us to speak the truth, use kind words, and do good deeds (Colossians 3:17). If we obey these commands, our reward will be favorable.

Each day, we face decisions that require us to glorify God, self, or Satan. God knows our situations before they happen and equips us to manage them. He has given us his Holy Spirit and Holy Bible to guide us along his path. Consequently, he expects us to make choices that glorify him. Sometimes, we make wrong choices, but when we repent, he forgives us (1 John 1:9), and allow us to continue the journey with him.

God is pleased when we are self-aware, socially aware, and mindful of our actions. This attitude helps us identify and reject distractions while intentionally doing good deeds. The devil is always looking for someone to tempt (1 Peter 5:8), nonetheless, when we are focused on obeying God’s commands, it is difficult for us to yield to temptation. God is asking us to guard against the weaknesses in our defense system. These include tiredness (mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional), frustration, inner turmoil, disinformation, and doubting him.

Heavenly Father, thanks for your grace. Help us to glorify your name in everything we do. In Jesus’ name, amen.
