Help Someone Achieve Their Goal

Grace and peace be unto you.

Who helped you realize your dreams? The English poet John Donne wrote, “No man is an island.” God created us to live in communities and not in isolation because we need each other to develop into healthy functioning citizens. Scripture says, “Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too” (Philippians 2:4).

The story is told that Moses gave the Reubenites, Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh their land which was east of Jordan. Nonetheless, Joshua instructed the fighting men from these tribes to leave their wives and children in their land, and join the Israelite army to help their fellow men, until they take possession of their land. After which, they may return and occupy theirs (Joshua 1:12-15).

Although the three tribes received their blessings before the others, their fighting men could not rest until all the tribes received theirs. God inspired many people to help you achieve your goals, and you are satisfied with your progress and enjoying life. Nonetheless, he wants you to help others achieve their dreams (Hebrews 13:16). He has given you the desire and resources. We are all winners when we help each other.

Heavenly Father, thanks for sending people in our lives to help us achieve our dreams. Open our minds and hearts so we understand that we should help others achieve theirs. In Jesus’ name, amen.
