Grace and peace be unto you.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). Many years ago, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was born. His birth meant a shift in the spiritual realm. As a result, Herod tried to kill him but was unsuccessful (Matthew 2:16-18).
Jesus came and showed us how to love. He desires that our Christian journey be characterized by love. Hence, he sent the Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen us. Scripture says that our deeds are only worthwhile when they are done with love (1 Corinthians 13:1-3). As we celebrate Christmas, I pray that we will do so with the love of Christ.
Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your Son,
Jesus Christ into this world.
Help us to understand that he showed us how to
love because he wants us to emulate him.
He had compassion on the sick and sought
justice for the oppressed.
He forgave those who hurt him and gave
to the poor and needy.
He treated everyone equally and was kind,
patient, and understanding.
Heavenly Father, grant us the desire to love
as Jesus did. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
