7 Ways To Identify A Child of God

Grace and peace be unto you.

1. His behavior depicts a Christlike Image.

“You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?” (Matthew 7:16).

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control…” (Galatians 5:22-23).

“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ” (Ephesians 4:15).

2. He accepts the Bible as God’s Holy Word and do not use external sources to validate it.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:8).

3. He knows God’s voice and follows him. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).

4. God knows him and no one can convince him to walk away from God.

“Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his and, everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness” (2 Timothy 2:19).

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand” (John 10:29).

5. He is led by the Spirit of God. “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God” (Romans 8:14).

6. His love for himself and others is obvious.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35).

“…You shall love your neighbor as yourself…” (Mark:31)

7. He knows his purpose and seeks to fulfill it.

“That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty” (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10).
