God’s Recipe For Success

Grace and peace be unto you.

God desires that we prosper in everything (3 John 1:2), accordingly, he has given us guidelines to be successful.

Plan/Vision

1. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).

2. Write down your vision or plan (Habakkuk 2:2).

3. “For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, this man began to build and was not able to finish” (Luke 14:28-30).

4. “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty” (Proverbs 21:5).

Character: Invest time in developing your character.

5. “But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing” (James 1:25).

6. “Then David said to Solomon his son, be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished” (1 Chronicles 28:20).

7. “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners
take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law, day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither, whatever they do prospers” (Psalm 1:1-3).

Timing: Wait on His timing.

8. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

9. “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

10. “But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8).

11. “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law (Galatians 4:4).

12. “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end, it will not lie,
if it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay” (Habakkuk 2:3).
