Grace and peace be unto you.
The Journey continues…
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives” (Psalm 37:23). God knows the trials that you will face in the future and has the resources you need to be victorious. Isn’t this thought wonderful? You are being guided by the Lord who knows everything and is in control of the universe.
The story is told that Jacob lived in Canaan, the Promised Land with his descendants. It so happened that there was a famine, and the Lord told him to go to Egypt where there was an abundance of food (Genesis 42-46). Considering that God told Jacob and his family to live in Canaan, one would think that there would be continued provision in Canaan. But, “No,” they faced hardship. The truth is that God promised to provide for us but did not say how it would be done. He provided for Jacob and his family in another country, as a result, they emigrated.
God’s method of provision varies therefore we must be open to his instructions. Scripture says, “But my righteous one shall live by faith…”(Hebrews 10:38), that is, believe in Christ and obey his commands. Although we are in God’s plan, we do not know all the details, hence there will be surprises. Nonetheless, we courageously face each day because God is with us and is directing our path (1 Corinthians 3:16; Psalm 32:8). Our responsibility is to trust and obey him daily. He keeps his promises and will never fail us.
What should you do, when you are in God’s plan and there is a lack in your life? Talk to him, quote the Bible verses that pertain to provision and his plan, tell him that you believe his Word and for his Name’s sake he needs to fulfill his promise. Remind him that you are a witness to the world of his goodness. Ask him to show you the open door, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
