Grace and peace be unto you.
A Word of Encouragement…
Some time ago, I heard the inspirational testimony of a faithful Christian woman who was diagnosed with cancer. Reportedly, she was initially angry with God but then she accepted the fact that he allows everything to happen for a purpose. And so, she did surgery while trusting God to work through science for her healing. The surgery was successful but she went a step further by meditating on relevant Bible verses and declaring healing on a daily basis. It has been over 20 years and she is cancer free and praising the Lord. The psalmist says, “How excellent is your lovingkindness, O God…” (Psalm 36:7).
The story is told that Jesus went into the synagogue and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Jesus told him to stand up and stretched out his hand. He obeyed and his hand was restored (Mark 3:1-6). On another occasion, Jesus went by boat to a solitary place but the crowd followed him. When the boat landed and Jesus saw the large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick (Matthew 14: 13-14). The Apostle Paul wrote that Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him (Acts 10:38).
Jesus has seen your weaknesses, sins, struggles, hurts, and pains, even so, he longs to be gracious to you. He wants you to give him your burdens (1 Peter 5:7) so that you will receive forgiveness, deliverance, healing, and restoration. You might say to yourself, “Jesus blessed me last week, that is enough.” You are partially correct, he blessed you last week but that is not enough. In fact, he blessed you yesterday, last month, and this morning. Everyday, he has new blessings for you because you need them to become spiritually mature and accomplish your purpose. His nature is one of loving-kindness, hence he is always looking for opportunities to be gracious to you. Will you cry out to him today? Will you talk to him? You will not be disappointed because you will experience his loving-kindness.
