Grace and peace be unto you.
The journey continues…
According to the prophet Isaiah, God was displeased with the Israelites because they formed an alliance with Egypt. God’s disapproval is recorded in Isaiah 30:1, “Woe to the obstinate children,” declares the Lord, “to those who carry out plans that are not mine, forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit…” Isaiah prophesied that the alliance would not be successful, “But Pharaoh’s protection will be to your shame, Egypt’s shade will bring you disgrace” (Isaiah 30:3).
I heard the testimony about a Christian woman who started a vegetable garden because her neighbor had one. She prayed over her garden and believed that it would be a success. However, one day she went to her garden and realized that insects had eaten most of the vegetables. She went to God in distress and confusion asking him why her vegetables were destroyed. He patiently listened to her, after which he told her that it was not his plan for her to have a vegetable garden.
Perhaps you are in a similar situation where you have implemented your plan and it has not come to fruition. I encourage you to ask yourself the questions, did I consult with God prior to the development and implementation? Is my plan approved by God? Sometimes we consult with God and do not get his approval and still proceed, other times, we do not ask because he will not approve. Yet still, there are those instances in which we are focused on a particular goal to the extent that we convince ourselves that it is God’s plan.
Irrespective of your situation, there is an old proverb that says, “it is never too late for a shower of rain.” Therefore, if your plan is not approved, apologize to God, submit it to him and ask him to direct you on the way forward, the Bible says, “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you” (Psalm 37:5).
